Roger and Lee Glunt

Roger and Lee GluntThe love Roger (CBA ’60) and Lee Glunt share for each other is rivaled only by the love they share for Pitt. The University is not only a big part of the Glunts’ enriching volunteer lives, but also a big part of their philanthropic efforts. The couple made their first financial gift to Pitt in the 1970s.

In 2008, after three decades of giving and volunteering, the coupled led the way in gathering gifts to create the Nancy Glunt Hoffman Endowed Chair in the School of Nursing to honor Roger’s late sister who was a 1962 graduate. Roger helped create a similar fund to honor former Pitt Band Director Robert L. Arthur. And the couple is currently endowing the Roger and Lee Glunt Family Endowed Fund, which will award scholarships to undergraduate and graduate business students.

“I just believe in this place. You look at what our students do—their accomplishments and where they go—it’s just stunning. There is no place like the University of Pittsburgh and it deserves our support.”

In total, the Glunts have made gifts to approximately 50 different funds at the University supporting students, research, programs, and Heinz Memorial Chapel. Not surprisingly, Pitt is also included in their estate plan.

“This is where our heart is. This is where our time and treasure go.”
